The Day I Rant About Having Only 94 Days To The A's

OhmygodohmygodohmygodOHMYGOD...

94 FUCKING DAYS TO THE FUCKING A'S!!!!!!
(The last I checked, it was 99 days. Like whatthefuck. Fuckfuckfuckfuck...)

And like 4 weeks to Prelims! I. Am. Majorly. Fucked. Like, MAJORLY FUCKED (is there even such a word. What the hell..)

I need more time!!! NononononoNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... Maybe I'll go sell my soul or something. Anyone have any connections in that field?

I shouldn't even be blogging. Urgh.
Sickening.

The education system is like a virus and exams are like the major attacks to your system. Once it gets to you, you just convulse and get cardiac arrest before turning blue. Like what everyone (I'm making an assumption here) who's taking the A's is experiencing now.

Somebody please do me a favour and shoot me...

The Day I Went To The Hospice & The Day I Got A New Phone

I was at the Assisi Hospice yesterday doing volunteer work and I must say, it was an amazing experience. Life became so different, as I saw and helped people who needed help for almost everything ie eating, drinking, showering, poo-pooing etc but could still have such a positive outlook on life.

I've learnt to cherish the life God has given me more and I'm definitely going to go back there to help out every week. If you're ineterested to know what the nurses do and want to help the sick, please do drop by the hospice as a volunteer. It's right next to Mt Alvernia Hospital, near MacRitchie Resevoir.

Got a new phone yesterday too. A Nokia 6280. Great phone...

Ok, gotta go sleep now. 95 more days to the A's...

The Day I Talk About Winnie The Pooh

"Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, funny little silly old bear.."

Just heard something off Class 95FM. Yas was just talking about Winnie the Pooh and how the whole emsemble of characters from the Disney show happened to be male (with the exception of Kanga, who's the mummy of Roo. Hmmm.. I wonder who's the Daddy? Hahaha...)

Something's fishy about The 100 Acre Wood I tell you...

The Day I Post CRAZY Lyrics

Crazy - Patsy Cline

Crazy, I'm crazy for feeling so lonely
I'm crazy, crazy for feeling so blue
I knew you'd love me as long as you wanted
And then someday you'd leave me for somebody new

Worry, why do I let myself worry?
Wond'ring what in the world did I do?
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you

I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying
And I'm crazy for loving you
Crazy for thinking that my love could hold you
I'm crazy for trying and crazy for crying

And I'm crazy for loving you.

The Day After CHMA 2006

CHMA 2006 was a blast!

Had a really good time watching and performing this year. Younger contestants are making their way to the finals and winning this thing, which is a fantabulous. Last night's overall winner was a Sec 1 instrumentalist Derek Koh who played the yang qing and left us all in awe.

Marcus and I sang "Right Here Waiting" twice last night, the second time because of a special request by Mrs Chaillan (pronounced shay-lawn. It's French), one of the judges on the panel, who was my ex-music teacher and current vice-principal of Catholic High (Primary).

Thanks to God, everything went smoothly.

Many thanks to all the crew-members of the iMedia who put so much time and effort in preparing for the show, the contestants for their undying musical passion, Kong Meng for his piano accompaniment, and the teachers who invited Marcus and I back to Cat High for a guest-performance slot.

After 4 consecutive years, I guess last night was my last performance at CHMA for the forseeable future. The feeling of seeing this show develop from it's very initial concept, being part of it as a contestant to and alumni member, and watching it play out so beautifully again last night, is impossible to describe.

Here's a nice a'capella video of an all-Asian group called At Last who are contestants of America's Got Talent. They're really good.

The Brandy-Piers banter is priceless.
Brandy blandy! Haha...

The Day I Talk About Class Politics

I once said that my class was the most peaceful and loving bunch of Hippies, but I'm afraid I'd have to eat my own words now.

Cos it's not.

There's bitching and gossip and rumours about so and so and whatnot. Hell, even I got involved in a high-profile "bitch-fight". But that's long over so let's not dwell on that. What I'm trying to say is, hating and beating-the-crap-out-of-each-other-even-though-not-literally-cos-you're-doing-it-behind-each-other's-backs is not healthy.

If there are any disagreements or anything that you feel that you're uncomfortable with, why don't you just talk it out like sensible adults?

Class politics can be prevented. Just find the person you have beef with, sit down (or you could stand up), and talk it out. It's not easy, I know, but it's the better of two alternatives. Nobody likes conflicts. Nobody likes awkward moments. Why make our own lives in school more miserable than it already is?

Make love, not war. Like the old Chinese saying goes, it's "always better to have a friend than to have one more enemy". Isn't it?

The Day I Saw A Parent Slap A Child

This was what I saw during dinner at a food court today:

Toddler: *cries*
Mother: You cry somemore I slap you again ah!
Toddler: *cries somemore*
Mother: YOU AH!*slaps child*

Here's the deal: When you have a kid, go for parenting lessons. Or else, don't have one. Do you really think a toddler (about 1-2 years old) will understand you when you just slap him/her? What kind of parent are you if you just keep doing that?

I mean, I'm all for corporeal punishment, but if only used sparingly like when a kid is misbehaving or needs to be disciplined to do the right thing. And slapping without explanation is not a way to use it.

The Day I Read The Five People You Meet In Heaven

I've just finished The Five People You Meet In Heaven and I think I should share this. It's really heart-warming and gives you a different perspective on death and afterlife.

Go get the book and you'll know what I mean.

The Day I Got To Wake Up Without Mummy Screaming In My Ear

It's wonderful to be able to wake up without Mummy screaming me awake. See, this is the usual drill for every single day of my holidays:

(Translated from mandarin)
"IT'S 9 ALREADY YOU BETTER GET OUT OF BED OR ELSE YOU WON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO STUDY WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!"

Well, it's something along those lines, and she's usually bluffing about the time. If she says it's 9, it's most probably 8.30, and it's not like I don't have an alarm clock by my bedside you know. Anway, enough about my lovely morning (and mummy-"bashing", in case she sees this. I secretly think she found my blog).

The Day Leonid The Magnificant Hit Me In The Face (Well, Not Literally)

There's this new show in the States and it's called America's Got Talent. From my previous entry (the one with the 11-year-old Bianca Ryan), you can see that America's got some talent alright. But here's something that puzzles me:

Simon Cowell, acid-tongued judge of American Idol fame, is the Executive Producer and brainchild of the show. And he picks former anorexic pin-up girl Brandy and David "lao tiko" Hasselhoff of Baywatch fame as 2 of the 3 the judges (the last guy's Piers Morgan, some British show-host and newspaper editor) for the show? Brandy and Hasselhoff. (Hasselhoff better be grateful, seeing how he's got not much of a career post-Baywatch.)

With a line-up of judges like that, you can expect some weird judges picks.

Here's a guy who calls himself Leonid The Magnificant.

Apparently, he's some queen from the New York night scene who migrated to the States from Sickle-&-Hammer Land (aka Russia). Odd guy, with even odder antics.

Enjoy...

Blandy's really got no clue about the fine line between entertainment and acts-of-stupidity (ie playing with swords on national tv and almost killing yourself).

The Day I Shot Hoops With Shaun

Went over to Shaun's place after lunch to shoot some hoops today. It's been quite some time since we had a heart to heart talk, and shooting hoops was a good way to have a conversation. Can't say that it wasn't nice to have a long chat with my good friend. Kinda missed talking to him, actually.

The Day I Fell In Love... With Sudoku

I'm in love with Sudoku!
It's so addictive I tell you...

Here's a nice vid of Mariah's performance of "Fly Like A Bird" during this year's Grammy's. It's my favourite song from her The Emancipation of Mimi album:

The Day I Get Completly Floored By An 11-Year-Old

Oh. My. God.

This little girl will put Singapore Idol contestants to shame.

Seriously.

She's only 11.

The Day I Fell For A Damien Rice Song

Here are the lyrics to a funny, weird song....
Go figure out what the lyrics mean..
Don't ask me cos I have no idea either.

"Woman Like A Man" by Damien Rice

I need a piss,
Wanna hate,
Fuck it up, cum.

My love,
Each and me,
Keep your teeth, wrong.

You’ve lost me,
You caused me
You taught me a million
Whip back
Walk me to,
Stupid fool

You wanna get boned
You wanna get stoned
You wanna get a room like no one else
You wanna be rich
You wanna be kitsch
You wanna be the bastard of yourself
You wanna get burned
You wanna get turned
You wanna get fucked inside out
You wanna be ruled
You wanna be fooled

You wanna be a woman like a man like a woman like a man
A woman like a man like a man like a woman like a man, you like a man.
(I’ll get a cheaper ticket next time)
Woman like a man woman like a man like a woman like a man woman like a man
(I’ll get a cheaper ticket next time)
A woman like a man like a man like a woman like a man, woman like a man
(I’ll get a cheaper ticket next time)
Woman like a man like a man like a woman like a man like a man
(Really wasn’t worth the ride)

Need a hit
Wanna wait
Suck it up, cum
My love,
Each and me,
Itchy feet, run

You reach me
You bleach me
You teach me a million familiar
Whip back
Walk me to
Stupid fool

You wanna get boned
You wanna get stoned
You wanna get a room like no one else
You wanna be rich
You wanna be kitsch
You wanna be the bastard of yourself

You wanna get burned
You wanna get turnedY
ou wanna get fucked inside out
You wanna be ruled
You wanna be fooled

You wanna be a woman like a man like a woman like a man
A woman like a man like a man like a woman like a man, woman like a man.

The Day I Went For Homecoming Day

Went at Cat High for Homecoming Day ie Family Day today. Wasn't as bad as I'd expected it to be, and I met many of my old teachers. It felt odd to be back, cos the place looked so different from when I graduated, but it was still nice visiting nonetheless.

3 more papers to go, and it's a short break before commencing my preperation for the prelims.
