The Day I Talk About The Da Vinci Code Movie, Blesphemy and Some

Just caught The Da Vinci Code today.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The Da Vinci Code (Movie)

If I had to summarize the movie in one word: Bland

Tom Hanks, taking the lead role of Professor Robert Langdon, displays a wide array of emotions in this one, which includes frowning in deep thought, frowning in surprise, frowning in anger, and the peculiar frowning smile. Yes, he's as stoic as a board. Even my rabbits display a larger variety of emotions.

My favourite French pixie, Audrey Tautou, does a good job in emoting Sofie Neveu, and her English is surprisingly passable. She was the only person who captivated me enough to keep me awake through the show.

Tom Hanks & Audrey Tautou from a scene in the movie

Sir Ian McKellen of X-Men and The Lord of The Rings fame (he has recurring roles as Magneto in the former and Gandalf in the latter) does an ok job as Sir Leigh Teabing, the actual mastermind who orchestrated the killings of the Priory of Sion members in the movie.

Sir Ian McKellen

Then comes Paul Bettany, husband of Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly, as the extremist albino, Opus Dei monk Silas. Best acting I've seen from him so far. He looked really scary in the movie...

...as Silas

Now, a quick critique of the movie:

The US$124 million movie does not feel like a $124 million film. It lacks the oomph of a blockbuster. Sure, they have big names that have massive drawing-power, like Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Sir Ian McKellen etc. But the film follows the book so closely that there are not many unpredictable sequences that really make the audience go "whoa!". Did I mention that Tom Hanks' acting in this movie was probably his worst, by far?

If you ask me, it's not worth the $9.50 ticket price. Wait for the VCD or DVD to come out and go rent it.

Summary of the story
In short, the story is about the discovery of a 2000 thousand-year-old fraud by the Church, which tries to erase the evidence of Jesus' decendents (a result of copulation with his "Holy Grail", Mary Magdalene).

Incredible blasphemy, if you ask me. If you're any interested in the truth, go get your hands on The Da Vinci Deception, a great read for those who actually believe the many factual errors stated in Dan Brown's novel.

Some facts:
- Da Vinci was never an occultist who put secret "codes" in his paintings and other works. He was just a maths freak who was uber interested in the mathematic meaning behind symbols and shapes.

- Da Vinci was a genius inventor.

- Da Vinci was a bastard and gay, which caused him to be ostracised by many as well as gotten him persecuted by the Churchof his time.

- The Opus Dei is not an "evil" cult, as portrayed so in the movie, but comprise of very normal and strictly religious people.

My day...
I'd actually caught the movie with Kenny (my good friend from my 1st-three-months in MI) even though I had not intended to initially at Orchard Cineleisure. God, I really hate Cine. It's a checkpoint for the bengs and lians. A sight for sore eyes I tell you. Many of the boys and girls was garishly overdressed and hairstyled. But nonetheless, it was great hanging out with a buddy.. :)

I've got some stupid briefing at NUS tomorrow for Pre-U Sem (PUS 2006 for short. PUS. Get it? Nevermind...) early early early in the morning, followed by College Day back in school in the late afternoon. I dunno why they made it compulsory for all J2's to go bak for the lame-o event, but we're all supposed to go anyway. Urgh. School still wants to kill us even though it's the weekends.

Bloody hell...

The Day I Talk About X-Men 3 (Again)

The Cure for mutantcy.

That's the theme for the upcoming X-Men movie. Well, other than the resurrection of Jean Grey in the form of Phoenix. But that's the soap opera part. What I'm going to talk about today is the cure.

Imagine if you were different, and had everybody hate you. Maybe it's because you were of a different colour; maybe you were gay; or maybe, you had a mental disability. Society looks at you differently and hates you. Then, somebody comes up with a cure for you "difference". The question is, will you take it? Or will you embrace what you are, despite the social stigma attached to being different?

On many levels, the X-Men stories reflect real life figuratively.

The "Cure" storyline was first introduced in the first issue of Astonishing X-Men in 2004, written by Buffy-creator Joss Whedon.

Astonishing X-Men #1
(I know, it looks surprisingly similar to the X3 logo)

An Indian Doctor, Dr Kavita Rao, discovers a cure for the mutant x-gene. This information quickly perpetrates to the media and many mutants, especially those with physical and life-halting mutations, are queueing up to get it. Among the X-Men, Beast gets his hands on the mutant cure and is deliberating about using it when Wolverine interjects and gets into a tussle with him. After that, Beast decides that an X-Men never gives up on their roots and doesn't take the cure.

X-Men: The Last Stand

In the latest instalment of the movie, a mutant cure similar to that of the cure in the comics has been discovered. Cue pandemonium and disparity. Warren Worthington III (Angel), whose father wants him to take the cure so as to have his wings removed, goes against the idea and runs away from the lab moments before the cure is administered to him. In this movie, I expect that Rogue, Beast, and many of the mutants with socially-stigmatised mutations (blue fur, uncontrollable life-force-sucking touch etc.) will deliberate about whether or not to take the cure.

I hope that everbody who watches the movie will see beyond the action (I admit, I'm really looking forward the the CGI action scenes), Jean's soap-opera-ish resurrection, and understand the true meaning the film is meaning to deliver.

The Day I Talk About MARVEL's Civil War & X-Men 3

I'm not talking about the real Civil War, but the Marvel event of the year, Civil War.

History

House of M

X-Men

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The New Avengers

After the House of M last year, the mutant population has been severely decimated*. There are roughly about 198 mutants left in the world. Because of that, the government has placed mandatory full-time protection by Sentinel Squad O*N*E*. On the other side of the line, the New Avengers, even though they consist of a largely non-mutant (with the exception of Wolverine) team, have been affected by the events of H.O.M as well. Post-H.O.M, the government wanted to tag and register all mutants with a proposal of the Mutant Registration Act.

Civil War

Lines are drawn. Whose side are you on?

Recently, a reality television programme starring former teen superheroes, the New Warriors, shot an episode of the team going against 4 C-grade villians, namely Coldheart, Speedfreak, Cobalt Man and Nitro. Unexpectedly, Nitro creates a atomic-bomb like explosion and blows up the vacinity, which included a school full of school childern.

Because of that, the Superhuman Registration Act was also introduced. Now, all superheroes have to regster themselves in order to work as superheroes. That means no more unknown, masked vigilantes, and this also meant that villians could threaten superheroes on a more personal level.

So now, the sides have been formed. Some heroes are for it, and some are against it. Whose side are you on?

You decide.

10 more days... I can't wait!

The Day I Talk About Matchmaking

There's been a bout of the Matchmaking influenza going about my friends lately. And the worst thing is, they're trying to matchmake me. I mean, it's bad enough that matchmaking is a dead trade that nobody in the right frame of mind would go for willingly in the 21st-century (with the exception of the super-traditionalist Indians in the faraway land of India, according to what I hear), I have been misunderstood as some desperately single, undersexed adolescent.

If it was just one person attempting to help me "get together with" some crush of mine, it's all fine. But now it's not only 1, but 2 of my dear friends are arbitrarily trying to get me hooked up with their just-as-single and seemingly desperate friends.

God-knows why people actually think that I don't enjoy the fruits of singledom. As a matter of fact (in the words of the lame-o McDonalds' diddly), I'm Lovin' It! Seriously.

I don't want to get together with anyone right now, and neither do I have a crush on anybody. Besides, I don't need to get laid, and I'm more than happy being single. Anyway, I don't exactly have the time nor the money for a relationship. I'm really grateful for your concern and all, but I don't need a girlfriend.

Not now, at least. *sigh*

The Day I Talk About My Rabbits and My Neighbour's Stupid Cat

I really don't like cats.

Mainly because they scratch alot, and cos one of them tried to kill my rabbits today.

One of my neighbours (I haven't found out which one) has this white, furry and feral tubby cat that was observed by yours truly in an attempt to make a pass at my rabbits today. By "making a pass" I mean attacking. Just for your information, my female rabbit, Queen (the white, lazy and fat one), is kept in the garage, and Forrest (the older, grey and cuter one) is kept outside in the garden.

This morning as I was leaving my house to go to school, I saw Queen all huddled
up in her cage in fear and from a distance (about 6m away), I saw that tubby. I assumed poor lil Queenie was aantagonized by that feral no-brain. Later in th evening, after I let Forrest out of his cage, the stupid cat popped out of nowhere and chased after him while he was out for his daily "run" in the garden. AND THE BLOODY CAT SCRATCHED MY POOR BABY.

Stupid cat. When I find out who it's owner is, I tell you... *growls in displeasure*

The Day I Add Some Synergy '06 Photos

I have absolutely nothing to blog about. Oh yes, we celebrated Sean's birthday in school today. That's about the most exciting thing that happened. Here are some photos from Synergy 2006 that I've grabbed from nanyangjc.org. Go there for more photos if you're interested.

The Day I Talk About The Hot, Smart & Gorgeous

I just bumped into Leslie Kwok a couple of days ago and this thought hit me: why am I not one of those hot, smart and gorgeous?

I absolutely revere them. And I hate them; It's a love hate thing.

Here are some people who you'll love to hate and the reasons why you'll feel that way:
--------------------------------

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Leslie Kwok

This 33-year-old ex-Singapore National Swimmer, a graduate of ACS(I) and ACJC, is also a proud owner of his very own spa chain. He is also a well-known local model and became one of Cleo's 50 Most Eligible Bachelors at the age of 24. He was also featured on Channel News Asia's "What Women Want... Really" Program recently as one of the most sought after men in Singapore. *jealous*
--------------------------------

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Natalie Portman

Hollywood actress. Harvard graduate. Looks to die for. Natalie Portman is one of Hollywood's up-and-rising stars. With three Star Wars movies under her belt, as well as her critically acclaimed sleeper hit Closer and her most recent film outing, V For Vendetta, it is no wonder that she is a bona fide actress. Topped with her genious and fresh-faced appeal, this Jerusalem-born pixie is definitely on top of many little girl's "hate lists".
--------------------------------

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Jon Jonsson

He was the winner of Bravo's Manhunt reality tv show two years ago and is currently an astrophysics undergrad at UC Santa Cruz. With brains like his, a rippling bod and killer good-looks, does it puzzle you why he's on my list of hot, smart and gorgeous people? I so totally hate people like him. Urgh....
--------------------------------

I'm just thankful that I'm not born with any physical or mental defects. But still, you'll find yourself hating these born-better-off-than-you people if you were me.

The Day I Talk About The Synergy Experience

It's finally OVER!
Thank God...

Synergy 2006 was definitely a memorable experience for me. There were many "first times" and I really grew alot as a preformer. However, it wasn't exactly a happy event. It was both good and bad. Let's start with the good first:

The Good

I had my dance performance directly before my singing performance, which meant that I only had roughly 15 seconds to change out of thet ghastly Paddlepop costume into my own clothes. Hurrah for me. Even though it was a mad rush, the adrenaline surge felt so good. And I really got the feeling of how professional performers having a concert actually do what they call a "quick change". Like really really quick. I'm sooo superstar-ish now. *malicious laughter*

The singing performance bit was pretty ok, considering we didn't have much time to prepare for it. And the two finales (for both the Matinee and Evening shows) were a blast. The odd thing was, even though we have three members in the band, the only consistent band member that appeared in both the finales (which is yours truly, of course). I did the first finale with Marcus, and the second one with Junyi. And people kept asking ME why we couldn't have ALL 3 OF US FOR THE FINALE. I was so very irritated by that.

After the show, a bunch of J1 girls (and a couple of guys) came up to me an requested to have a photo taken with me. My first groupie experience. This was what happened:

Me: *carrying my barang barang and walking out of
school, passing by the Atrium*

Guys 1 & 2: Hey can we take a photo with you?

Me: Erm, for what?

Girl 1: Cos you're The One ma!

Me: Oh. Actually, there are three...

Girl 2: PLEASE???

Me: Errr, ok...

All Groupies: YAY! *approaches stranger for help in
phototaking*

It was an odd, first-time-being-hounded-by-groupies experience, but it was certainly an interesting one.

The Bad
(The following is a negative recount of a the writer's negative feelings. Reader discretion is advised. Expletives are freely used. Not suitable for the young.)

The band performance for the evening fringe show went pretty ok, but the morale of the band was TERRIBLE. T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The band members were unhappy with this and that and apparently, it added lots of pressure on Marcus. I dunno why (cos if there's anybody who should be exhausted it should be me. Dancing and changing and singing consecutively isn't exactly a walk in the park. It's rush rush rush.) but he was really stressed/pissed/unhappy. Thank GOD the show went on OK despite the undercurrent of negative energies.

Then immediately after the evening singing performance, Marcus became all mocdy and told me he didn't want to do the finale anymore. What a marvelous icing on top of the cake. Just when everything was going ok for me, the balloon had to burst IN MY FACE. Wowza. Now you know why Marcus wasn't there at the end.

Cos he left.

He left me there with Junyi (who didn't really know the finale song well enough so forgive her for forgetting the words) and I felt like shit. I looked like the happiest boy in the world when I was on stage but I FELT LIKE SHIT. CRAP. FAECES. Whatever you people call it anyway. I felt so fucked but I had to smile to everyone (strangers included) cos I couldn't possibly show that I was unhappy or else people would start bugging me with stupid questions and the vicious cycle would continue all over again. The stupidity of school-celebrityhood (is there even such a thing?) cos everyone knows who the hell you are and talks about you and everything related to you.

To add fuel to fire, Junyi started whining the the end of the whole show about how she screwed up all the songs, especially the finale. I mean, c'mon, nobody's balming anyone, so STOP WALLOWING IN SELF-DEGRADATION ALREADY. I was fucking fucking pissified cos of everything that happened. Besides being exhausted, stressed with the fact that Marcus left suddenly, she had to give me the "whine".

Last I heard, she cried and had to have her buncha friends console her before she left. Poor girl...

(End of negative entry)

I'm pretty satisfied with myself for being able to pull of the performances I gave yesterday. That's all that matters now.

The Day I Talk About My Synergy Outburst

I finally exploded today after all my pent up stress and frustrations were too much for me to handle. I guess I gave all the performers a huge shock during today's Synergy rehearsal. You see, this is what happened:

My band, consisting of musicians Baey, Yi Shin, Ernest and Leonard, are not obligated to help me and Marcus out today but they came anyway. So we did our 2 songs, namely She WiIll Be Loved and Here Without You for the teacher's-in-charge of the show. I found that it was pretty ok (even though the lead guitarist, Yi Shin, screwed up at some parts of Here Without You, we generally gave a good performance).

Then one of our "beloved" (I say this with an intense tone of sarcasm) Councillors, whose name begins with a J, who is also somebody that is not very well liked, had to give rather harsh and negative comment about our song rendition. I mean, if he was a wonderful singer OR a respected performer, I'd take it as constructive criticism. BUT the thing is, he sounds like a horse on helium pulling a cart over twisted nails (and that's already a very nice way of putting it) whenever he attempts singing, SO I don't think he's in a very good position to make such critical judgements.

So if you're reading this, FUCK YOU.
(I know I'm supposed to be more open-minded and accepting of criticisms, but today hasn't exactly been my day so I guess it really ticked me off to hear such crap. Thoe fucktards and their assholic comments just pisses me off.)

Another thing that fueled my stress was the dance performance. We screwed up. MAJOR screwed up. Thank GOD it was only a rehearsal. And did I mention that the guys costumes had a Paddlepop-coloured top and skin-tight, Robin-like (if you read the old Batman & Robin comics you'd know what I mean) green leotard shorts that are the length of boxers? When I saw it, I was like, WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

(PS: Btw if you don't know what Paddlepop is, it's the kinda ice-lollies by Walls Ice-Cream that we used to lick on during our younger days that are creamy rainbow-coloured. In other words, IT LOOKS GOOD AS AN ICE-CREAM BUT ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS AS A TOP. I dunno if there are still any Paddlepop ice-creams though. Remember the "Paddle-pop WOW, Paddle-pop YEAH, SUPERDUPER YUMMY!" diddly we always heard on TV last time? Oh, the good old times... Anyway, I digress.)

I exploded when I just couldn't handle the stress of screwing up and meeting people's high expectations of us The One winners. I mean, we're human too. Don't expect us to be perfect in every of our performances/rehearsals/practises. We, like everyone else, need time to polish and work on our coordination and team-spirit as well. So PLEASE, please treat us like normal people too. We're trying our best already.

On this note, I'd also like to apologise to everybody whom I've shocked with my outburst just now. I'm really embaressed about it and truly sorry if I've caused any inconvenience. Thanks so much to my Dance mates as well for trying to cheer me up. Really grateful for your support.

And of course, to Marcus and Junyi. Thanks...

The Day I Talk About Synergy

Synergy is this bi-annual concert organised for all the aesthetique CCAs in NYJC. I'm so lucky to be part of it. I'll be involved both in my dance CCA as well as have a performance with my The One band mates.

Thing is, I'm really really tired. I dunno if I'll be able to cope with four performances in one day. Let's just hope I won't die of fatigue...

The Day I Talk About Fucked-Up Drivers

I. Am. So. Fucking. Pissed.

AAAAARGH!!!

I hate those fucked-up drivers who think that they can do anything just becuse they drive a car. As I was going home today, I had to cross a zebra-crossing. Just as I set foot onto the first white line of the crossing, I saw a silver Volvo coming towards me without any hint of slowing down. I had no death wish, so I jumped backwards onto the curb and felt the car whizz past me.

What really ticked me off was the driver's reaction to seeing me. He glared and pointed the finger at me. I was the pedestrian at the zebra-crossing (which is meant for pedestrians, mind you) and he was the driver who couldn't be bothered to slow down.

Bloody muthafuckin' asshole!!!

First of all, zebra-crossings are a pedestrians-priority road junction. This means that drivers have to slow down as they approach them even if they don't notice any pedestrians nearby. And that's because of safety reasons. Secondly, I wonder how the hell these irresponsible drivers got their licenses in the first place. I'm guessing that the theory exam they sat for cannot really be applied in their "real life" situations.

May that driver burn eternally in the fires of hell and grow thorns in his sodding, god-forsaken butt. These selfish and arrogant bastards should be kept off the roads, Have them banned from the driving for eternity and sentence them to unlimited hours of community service. And maybe have their dicks chopped off and shoved up their own asses...

Urgh...

Ok, I'm saying this cos I'm pissed, but you would too if it happened to you.

The Day I Talk About Pseudo-Vegetarianism

Vegetarianism is the practice of not eating meat, including beef, poultry, fish, or their by-products, with or without the use of dairy products or eggs. The exclusion may also extend to products derived from animal carcasses, such as lard, gelatin etc.

Some people choose to be vegetarians because of religious and spiritual reasons; others don't eat meat because they love animals too much to eat them; there are also people who choose to be vegetarian due to health reasons (allergies to certain meats and/or meat by-products); however, some people are vegetarians are vegetarians because they say that they don't like the taste of meat.

Or so they say.

You see, I have a friend who's one of the latter vegetarians and she eat's fake meat. Now, fake meat is made to taste like real meat with chemicals and additives and what-not they add into the flour so if you don't like the taste of meat, why eat fake meat?

Here's a scenario that happened yesterday:

Meat-hater and I were at a vegetarian stall yesterday for lunch. Seeing that she bought all the fake meats to go with her bee hoon, I was curious so I decided to ask her about it.

Me: I thought you didn't like the taste of meat?
Meat-hater: I don't. Why?
Me: Then why did you buy all the fake meat to go with your bee hoon?
Meat-hater: It's vegetarian ma. And it's nice what...
Me: But doesn't it taste like real meat?
Meat-hater: ... (and she shakes her head and starts to walk towards the tables)
Me: Oei...

I'm perpetually confused by people like her. Do they say that they're vegetarians just to be cool, but are actually closet meat-lovers? If so, what's so cool about being vegetarian? I don't get it. Seriously.

I'll never understand these psuedo-vegetarians.

The Day I Talk About "Meeting" My Grandfather

For the first time in my 18 years of life, I've finally seen my departed maternal grandfather today. I don't mean it in a ghostly, creepy sort-of encounter with the netherworld people way. I was at Ju Shih Ling Temple paying respects to my departed granddad that I've never seen before (he passed away when my mum was 20. I was born when my mum was 29.) as well as my uncle (passed away in 1994).

It was a funny feeling. But it felt good. Like I finally met someone I've always thought about but never seen before. Although it was just a photograph on the urn, but it really meant something.

Oh yes, today was Palm Sunday too. Mass went well, but it was tiring (yes I like to whine. This is my blog, I'm entitled. :P) Also,I found out today that both Jerome and Jevon bought the same phone, on the same day! It's the Nokia 6280, the one that I've been wanting to get. If only I had money...

Ok gotta go memorise lines from King Lear now. Will be updating soon... Till then, stay cheerful and have a blessed Holy Week! :)

The Day I Talk About Post Block Test

School's been really busy. Had to do lotsa prep work for the pre-u seminar written report over the past week so I haven't been sleeping much nor updating my blog much. Sorry bout that. Anyways, nothing much interesting happened, other than the interview with Ya Kun Kaya Toast's Excutive Chairman (and his son, who acted as his PA as well). It was great meeting such a wise man. I'd never forget it. That, and the free kaya toast and drinks. Heh (Yes yes laugh all you want, I'm proud of my greedy-glutton nature. :P)

Been pretty whacked-up with the lack of sleep and whatever crap we had for homework the past week. Tammi's birthday was successful though (thank God). Glad I didn't screw up her card.

Oh yes, my brain was almost drilled open by the noise made by those horrible children on the MRT train today. Noise noise and more noise. Sometimes I feel like wrangling their parents (just because they can't keep their children in line. That's a mortal sin. Burn in hell, you lousy parents!!! BURN!!!) but most of the time, I just feel like kicking the kids out of the train. You'll feel that way too when you're having a 9.0 Richter Scale headache. I know I'm supposed to love all kids (being a Cathechist and all), but trust me, some days you just really wanna spank those devils (in the painful, teachine-them-a-lesson, whacking-the-butt kinda way. Not the sexual spanking thingy that people do as foreplay. I know what you dirty boys are thinking I tell you. Heh heh... I'm no paedophile.)

Let's just hope the following week'll be better.

The Day I Talk About Differences

A message I received in my e-mail not long ago. and I feel like I should share it here.

The Letter

To the future:

The most prominent issue in my life is homosexuality. I'm gay. Yeah, call me a fag, throw insults at me, I don't really care. The truth is, you don't understand. You don't know who I am, and you don't know what it means to me.

You can't tell me I made this decision, and you can't tell me that God hates me. I'm not listening to that anymore. I'm done with the guilt and I'm done with the questioning. Please. End your hatred and edn this suffering. Love is love, be it friendship, familial love, true love or puppy love. And love between humans is simply that - person to person. It has been said thatlove is blind, and it is blind to gender as well.

So open your minds and your hearts. End the hatred, the violence, thesuicide adn the misinformation. Do you realise that 30% of suicides among adolescents are by teens who are queer? This is deeply upsetting, nto to mention disproportionate, considering that onli 10% of the population is GLBT. Ignorance is not bliss, and hatred is not something to be admired.

Rejoice in our similarities and rejoice in our differences. Let no more tragedies take place. The Bible says "Love casteth out fear". DOn't be afraid of me.The Bible says "Love thy neighbour". I'm here, this is out planet;

Love Me.

The Day I Talk About The Oscars

The Oscars were a tad disappointing if you ask me.
I dunno what's going on with the Academy, but they were too politically correct in their prize giving, if you ask me. Talk about predictability...

I'm really unhappy with the fact that Felicity Huffman didn't win the best actress award. I mean, it's amazing how convincing she was in Transamerica as a transvestite who finds out that she has a gay prostitute son. A woman who's acting as a man who went through a sex change to become a woman? This girl deserves some recignition... And in the end, they gave the award to Reese Witherspoon.

Apparently the Academy's still very conservative, despite the fact that there were very anti-conservative movies in the running for many awards this year (think Brokeback and Transamerica). The Best Picture Award went to the multi-racial, plot-intertwined Crash. Haven't seen that movie but I heard it's not as deserving as Brokeback Mountain (which I thought was a great movie. Made me cry...)

On the fashion front, one person stood out to me in particular.
This woman won the "Golden Guy" for Best Actress two years back as an ugly, cellulite-filled lesbian serial killer in Monster. And she's none other than... *drum roll please*

Shaun made a really funny comment about her outfit. We were both in the canteen watching Channel News Asia when they did a fashion coverage about the Red Carpet celebrities and we saw Miss In-the-gown-with-a-black-and-HUGE-Satin-Ribbon. It was so hilarious!

Shaun: If she felt tired during the Awards show, all she has to do is just tilt her head over and snore.

Haha... Oh yes, I thought Jessica Alba looked so HOT with her back-to-brunette hairstyle. Blonde is just so not her colour.

And that's it for my views on the Oscars of 2006...

The Day I Do A Recap Of The Past Week

Haven't updated in ages. Here goes...!

Sunday
The TalentQuest '06 Semifinals went pretty well. I didn't exactly do my best for my solo (cos it wasn't my main priority) but hey, it was a good performance alright. Even though I didn't get into the finals, I think I performed pretty ok. The Duet was good too, but we didn't get into the Finals either. Guess BLUE and Lee Hom weren't good enough to save us. But I'm really still at a loss as to why we were beaten by the duo of psuedo-S.H.E. NUS undergrads. In my opinion, we were better than them. Oh well... At least everyone loved us. Heh.

Thanks to Wan Jin, ShiYun (and her boyfriend Ivan), Wan Teng, Tsung-Wei, Felicia, Jiahao, JunYi, Geok Khoon, Marcus' parents and my parents for coming down to lend us support. We really appreciated it. Also, special thanks to my dad for his help in arranging the Lee Hom song into a duet.

Monday
It was a really good day cos I got to see my buddy. It was also the day I came to the revalation than my best friend (in school), Shaun, has more friends of his own now (namely his ICS buddies) and that I shouldn't get too sensitive when he chooses to spend time with them instead of me. I'm totally possesive I tell you. And to think that me and Shaun are only, like, good friends. Can't imagine what I'd do when I get attached eh? *shivers*

Tuesday
Long day. 3 and a half hours worth of breaks. Had a nice gym session with Meifeng. Nothing much to shout about.

Wednesday
Two words: Long day.
School was ok until the release of the 'A' Level results. NYJC did horribly. Well, at least the Arts faculty was pretty horrible. There were so many people crying... And Shaun said something really funny (and slightly stupid):

Shaun: Maybe they're crying tears of joy?
Me: If you were crying tears of joy, would you retreat into some secluded corner to bawl? *cue roll-eyes*

Anyways, I was really glad because *surprise-surprise* Shaun actually passed his Tamil (with a measely C6, yes, but it's still a pass nonetheless)! And Marcus got a B4 for his CLO! So happy for them...

Then I had dance. Had the crazy stretching session again and I almost died cos I accidentally snapped my lower back. Not in two, of course, but I sprained it. Above that, I still had to carry Rachel and it was so agonising throughout. Imagine this routine: carry the girl, fall onto the floor, stretch, kick, stretch, roll, stretch, bend your back, stretch etc etc... Dance was just strenous and taxing on my body. I am so not made for dancing...

Then later in the evening, right after dance, I went straight for Econs tuition. It was pretty insightful and I made a few new friends as well. Then I headed home and completed my Geog tutorial before turning in at 2am. *sigh*

Talk about a long day. *sighs deeply*

Thursday
I love squash! PE was great cos we played squash and I'm getting better at it every lesson. It's one of the rare sports that I can actually play well. Most of the time, I just sit in the sidelines, envying all the skillful sportsmen and sportswomen because i suck at most sports. Anyway, school was like any other day, complete with the daily dosage of vitamin st-r-3SS and a jab filled with b1tCHy-t3Ach3Rs.

Had Econs again at night.

Friday
School was fine, with the coincidental pep-talk by all the subject teachers about the need of doing well so as to get into our desired courses in Uni. I tell you, anymore of such pep talks and I'll go mad. It's really irritating to have teachers breathing down your neck and at the same time give you added pressure about your results, as if we're not stressed enough already. Urgh...

Went out with Tammi for lunch at Plaza Singapura. It was a great bonding session. We saw Ms Ong (my PE teacher) on our train ride to Dhoby Ghaut and I'm sure she had the wrong idea bout the both of us. Sucks for me, I guess.

In the evening, I helped Jevon out at The Cathedral of The Good Shepherd for the Stations of the Cross. It's been like 2 months since I last saw him (he went to Thailand for a month for some NS training) and he's not changed one bit. Curious and curiouser. Hmmm...

Didn't see my eye-candy at all this whole week... *sigh*

Wow. Long post. Shall go to bed now... Guten Nacht! :)
